Welcome to Ms. Ward’s official webpage. Do I have to pay for a copyright in order to make the word “official” official? Business students, I’m looking at you.
Anyway, I made this page so all you strapping young men and women have a place to go to when you inevitably do your homework at the last minute and I’m not around. I know we cover some complex subjects and sometimes you just don’t have any free time between 2:30 Friday and midnight Sunday to get your homework started. If I had a cat for every time I received an e-mail with the sent time between two and three in the morning, I’d have…about the same incredulous number of cats I already have. So instead of e-mailing me and not getting an answer back because I’m long asleep and then being mad at me the next day for not refreshing my inbox every twelve seconds, you can come to this page and have all of your questions answered. Or you can at least go to another webpage that I’ve linked to and get the answer there. And my inbox can remain solely a haven for updates from Nigeria about my status as my fictional uncle’s beneficiary.
That probably wasn’t the warm welcome you were looking for. Here, observe pictures of cats with captions.
But seriously, I encourage you all to e-mail me any questions you have. Just know that if you send it in the AM the day before the assignment is due, I will not see it until the next day at which point it would be senseless to respond. This site is loaded with resources, and I intend to update them every time we start a new unit or we’re coming up on a test. I want to see you all succeed regardless of what your sleep schedule looks like. I hope this page proves beneficial to you and your studies. If you have any questions about it…dare I say e-mail me?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! It’s a great holiday, no? But it only lasts for twenty-four short hours. Too bad there aren’t more week-long holidays. Like next week for example. Next week is American Chocolate Week. However you wish to celebrate is up to you. Eat chocolate in class for all I care! Just know that if you make a mess, you’re cleaning it up. I can’t give you bonus points for bringing me chocolate because that’s bribery. However, if I had chocolate I would be more willing to include an easy bonus question on the next test. People have always said that when I eat chocolate, I give out all the best stickers from my sticker sheet. Once, after I ate chocolate, I took my whole class outside when the weather got nice. But I only did these things when I had the right chocolatey motivation.

I understand there were some issues today after school and that a handful of the students in my fourth block class missed your buses home. Class was dismissed at the appropriate time. Had I known the buses were arriving earlier than usual I would have let you all go early. I was not informed and I am sorry that so many of you were inconvenienced. I contacted the garage and learned that this new time will be consistent for the next week or so due to the weather forecast, so I will be letting you all leave five to ten minutes earlier. Again, I’m sorry and I take full responsibility for this miscommunication.

I’m very glad so many of you participated in the discussion today. Yes, I had a PowerPoint presentation planned but I think what we ended up doing will be far more valuable. During the discussion I mentioned a few videos and we did not have time to find them or watch them in class. I have embedded them on the resources page for you all to check out. I hope you all find the time to take a look at them. They should answer a few questions, or at the very least provide for an entertaining study break. You’re all studying on Friday nights, right?

Many of you have requested that I create a website so you can access class resources from any computer. Well, I used the winter recess to get one all set up. So without further ado…
Welcome to Mrs. Ward’s Earth Science site.
You can view these blog posts and all of the other content on the site freely without logging in. However, any files that need to be downloaded or streamed such as sound files, video files or separate text documents cannot be accessed unless you sign in first. If you haven’t done so already, you need to make an account. Please consult the sheet that I handed out in class today. It should help you get started.
